Elder and Sister Busby Come Home

My in-laws returned home to Tucson on Friday afternoon after serving an 18-month mission in Costa Rica. Those of us who could met them at the Tucson airport. Uncle Jim and Aunt Marilyn, as well as Aunt Fern, welcomed the returned missionaries, along with Kent (Nancy and their kids are still in Idaho), A. Jay's family, Matt's family, and us.

It was nice to spend the evening and Saturday with everyone. It was the first time Grandma and Grandpa met Emma, so it was especially special. Emma is sporting her Costa Rica souvenir dress in the picture below. On Saturday, we had a barbecue with tri-tip steak and lots of things to go with it. We were sad we had to cut it short to get back to Phoenix. We're looking forward to having Emma get to know her Busby grandparents better and spend more time in Tucson (where it was much cooler, by the way!).

On a side note, I find driving around in Tucson very frustrating - the surface road traffic is very inefficient and time-consuming. If there are no highways in Tucson because of pollution damage from them, I don't see how we can justify all the pollution from idling and slow-moving traffic, either. In any case, it takes 2 to 3 times as long to get anywhere in town in Tucson, once you get off the I-10. I'm all for cleaner air and doing what we can to preserve our environment, but when one must travel in a car, the quickest way there is best. Thank goodness we have freeways in Phoenix.

I bet that was a fun reunion! Especially with that cutie to show off!

Totally agree on Tucson. I think Tucson is strange anyway. (I can say it only because my mom is from there!)
