Mesa Renovation

When Curtis and I married in 2006, we each had a house. We didn't have time to sell one or both, or buy another, so we decided to keep both for the time being. I ended up moving into his in Ahwatukee since I had a roommate who wanted to stay in my house in Mesa. In January, the house became empty when the last renters moved out, so we decided to renovate it. We went over one Saturday to clean out the spare bedroom that still had a lot of my junk in it. The house, with no one else living there, still looked like I lived there. Most of my furniture was still there, the kitchen was still fully stocked with my kitchenware, and the closets still had my linens and even some of my clothes! It's like I never moved out! Tee-hee-hee.

We are really excited for the changes - it's like a new house. We're hoping Curtis' brother, Matt, and his little family will move into it, if they can rent theirs out in Laveen. (Matt lives in Laveen, about 50 miles from his work in Apache Junction, and living in our home in Mesa would cut his commute down to about 20 minutes, instead of an hour.) Here are some pictures from the house. Some highlights - new custom paint, new tile and carpet throughout, new lighting and fan fixtures including recessed lights in the kitchen, new window covering, as well as granite counter top and new hardware on the cabinets. We put the hours of watching HGTV to good use...

Ooh, me likey. It looks really big without everything in it (and my children and their toys). Maybe I'll move there. Haha.
