Happy birthday to me!

It's my birthday. I'm starting to see 40 in the horizon. Does anyone else remember the show "Thirtysomething?" I remember those people with kids seemed like they were so much older. I can't believe we're there. (Oh, that sounds like the State Farm commercials where different people describe where they are in life and then state, "I'm there." I am definitely THERE - wherever THERE is.)

I had a laid back day - hung out with Emma in our pajamas until 1:00, when she finally took a nap, so I could sneak in a shower. Curtis came home early, with cards from him and Emma, and pink hyacinths. We went to our friend Curtis Ganem's jewelry store to shop. Ganem Jewelers is closing their Tempe store, so a lot of their jewelry, especially the estate jewelry, are on sale up to 80% off. We picked up a couple of gifts for me (one for birthday and one for Mother's Day). Then we had dinner at home from Buca di Beppo - yummy chopped antipasto salad and linguine frutti di mare.

Lots of loved ones wished me happy birthdays. One of the best was from Sophia, my little niece who will turn 3 at the end of May. She wished me "Happy Birthday, Auntie!" over the phone, and then asked me several times, "Are you happy?" I confirmed several times, "Yes, I am very happy!" She then asked if Untall Turtis was happy. And I said, "Uncle Curtis is happy, too." And indeed, everyone is very happy!
