Emma: Maybe tomorrow we can go to McDonald's and get a sandwich.
Mommy: You mean a cheeseburger?
E: No, a sandwich.
M: Well, then, maybe we should go to Subway instead.
E: Yeah, because they have sandwiches there. Ask me how I know that.
M: How do you know that?
E: No, just guess.
M: Because we've been there?
E: (whispering in my ear) No, because I'm smart.
Yes, she is!
Also heard around the house:
Emma: Are you guys going? (as we were getting ready to leave for the evening)
Mommy: Yes.
E: Are you coming back?
M: Yes. We will come kiss you when we get back.
E: Okay, but be quiet. Tiptoe when you come kiss me. Well, the carpet doesn't make noise, so just walk when you're on the carpet, but tiptoe on the floor. Bye!
M: Do you think you will still like me when you're old?
E: Yeah, I will still like you when I'm old. I'll be a grown-up, but I'll still call you Mom.
E: (as she was putting her toys away) How am I doing? Am I doing a great job?
