Baby Boom

It seems lots of people are having babies these days. The most recent birth of a family member is my sister's baby Naomi, born in June. The most recent friend's baby is a girl born to friends D & S on Monday. The "most pink" award goes to my friends in Portland who just had their 4th girl. The newest pregnancy news comes from friend AC at church. And the next baby to arrive, we hope any minute now, is my friend JEG's, who has been in active labor for the last several weeks but just not ready to deliver yet. (We are hoping for the best - soon!) The closest pregnancies of siblings is KP who is expecting after giving birth last year - she will have two boys who are just a little over a year apart. And I am certain that before the end of the year, there will be many more babies waiting to be born!

Yesterday, Curtis and I were marveling at how big Emma has grown, and he commented that it was a good thing I stayed home to witness all those changes. As each day passes, I am more and more grateful I decided to spend more time at home to be with Emma. She is already 5 months old, and growing very fast. If I had been working full-time all this time, I would have missed so much. I never knew I would get such joy out of listening to her giggles (when we tickle her under her chin(s)) or watching her sleep. When she grins, it just melts my heart. One day, I took over 50 pictures of her just sitting on our bed because she was cooing and smiling - I didn't capture what I wanted on camera, but I'm glad I took the time to record it in my mind. I hope I don't forget....
