My four roommates from Yale and I hooked up online this week after, gosh, I don't know how many months. I've connected with all of them at one point or another, but it's rare we hear from all five of us in the same week, and this week, we did. See my intro of them on 5/1/08 and this picture circa 1989, our freshman year. Front row: Maria, Michele, Jennifer; second row: Sharissa, Yours Truly. Don't worry, our hair improved over the years. See this one from my wedding in 2006. Much better, no?
Maria emailed that she is now the admissions director in addition to being the head of the early childhood program at the private school where she teaches. She is becoming quite the childhood education guru, and you'd better believe it, I will be consulting with her in the years to come. Michele called me a couple of weeks ago to check in, and although she was delinquent by a few days, finally sent over some pictures of her cute girls, Rustin, 2, and Manelle, 4. I haven't seen Manelle since she was an infant, and I haven't met Rustin ever.
Sharissa dropped off an email from Martha's Vineyard to say they were taking a break from their summer out at the Berkshires, and updated us on her book that we hope will become a bestseller and her recent resignation from the venture capital firm where she has worked for the past decade. Jennifer still works full-time for WaMu and is busy raising her two little ones. We hope to schedule a reunion soon. There's something special and therapeutic about spending time with friends who knew you while you were trying to figure out who you were and helped you along the way, long before husbands, children, and other real-life responsibilities came along.

Don't you just love blogging? I have found so many old friends this way.Your little Emma is so Adorable!!!!!!!
Hyeson--I was so excited to see your comment on my blog! It was so fun to read yours and catch up on what has been happening in your life since you and Curtis got married. Emma is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE being a mom, and I'm sure you do, too. As you read, we are working on #2. I am doing my best to not be so sick, but I am not a good sick person so I spend a lot of time at home lately being sick to my stomach. I don't know how these women have so many kids! It's a good thing I got married later--I don't have time to be pregnant too many times. :) Say "hi" to Curtis. Jennifer
I can't comment on your newest post for some reason. You know that Amy is having a girl too?? Yup! Now, if I've told you first, be excited when she does....
