I finally put a profile on
Facebook, and now I waste more time doing nothing on my list of things to do. But I'm having a terrific time catching up with old friends and chuckling at some random stuff that is posted! Does anyone really care that I made blackberry jam, if I post it there? (Actually, my sister-in-law, Cassie, did - and for caring, she gets a jar of my yummy blackberry jam!)
Curtis and I are contributing to the economy and working hard to get us out of recession. Just in the past few weeks, we have purchased a new plasma TV (our Christmas present to ourselves), new tricked out mobile phones (in honor of MLK Day), and a new DSLR camera (an early Valentine's Day present to me/us).

I don't think we're the only ones who forget there's a recession. From the looks of the mall parking lots and Costco, no one seems to be aware we're in recession. Seriously, though, we have been planning and saving for several years for all the items I listed, but we sure do feel very materialistic lately. The camera has been great to have - I have been having fun taking pictures of Emma, in particular, and love that I don't miss a shot waiting for my point-and-shoot to kick into gear. See what I mean? (These were from when she was sick, as you can tell from the snot.)
Clowning for the camera:

Pretending to throw a tantrum:

Emma is less than 3 weeks away from being a year old, and she is definitely more entertaining now that she babbles (a lot), interacts more with us, crawls and cruises. She also makes funny faces - love the one where she wrinkles up her nose - and has developed a bit of attitude about some things, like baby food. She wants none of the mush, and very much enjoys what we're eating.

She's definitely got a stubborn streak in her (not sure where that comes from!). Now that she's enjoying playing, she does not like to go to bed. Once she is in bed, though, she just sleeps away. It has been so much fun to see her discover new things and learn new tricks.
Her first time at McDonald's - she loves the fries (who doesn't?):

Going to the park with Daddy is one of her favorite activities:

And we can never get enough of her giggles, even the fake ones:

She has the most adorable little laugh. I agree parking lots everwhere seem pretty full to me.
