It was time for a cut. Emma was three-and-a-half without ever having had a (real, i.e. not just the bangs) haircut. Her hair was down to her waist and no longer very manageable. When I introduced the idea, though, Emma insisted on having it "lon(g)". (When Emma says words that end in -ng, she sometimes makes the g silent.)
Her little friend's mom is a hairstylist, fortunately, so it made for a good day - to get a haircut AND have a play date. And a lollipop doesn't hurt, either!
